Frequently Asked Questions
Can my coat/jacket be washed in the washing machine?
Yes, most of our coats and jackets can be machine washed. However, we always recommend reading the individual care label on the product, as washing instructions may vary depending on the fabric and construction. In general, we recommend following these steps:
- Check the washing instructions: Look for the washing instructions on the product, which are usually found on the label inside the jacket's/coat's inner pocket. Here you will find information about the recommended washing temperature, wash programme and any special instructions.
- Close zips and buttons: Before putting your coat or jacket in the washing machine, make sure to close all zips and buttons. This helps protect the product during washing.
- Use a gentle programme: Choose a gentle wash cycle with cold water and mild detergent to preserve the colours and quality of the fabric.
- Avoid tumble drying: We recommend avoiding tumble drying, as this can damage the fabric and fit. Instead, you can hang your coat or jacket to dry on a drying rack or hanger.
Our down jackets often require a more specialised approach, which you can read more about in our guide to caring for down. If you are unsure how to wash your specific jacket or coat, please feel free to contact our customer service for personal guidance. - Read the care instructions: Always start by reading the care instructions on your down jacket. Some down jackets may require special attention or specific washing conditions.
- Use a mild detergent: Use a mild detergent, preferably one intended for delicate fabrics and down products, such as Nikwax. Avoid using fabric softener, as it can damage the down.

- Wash on a gentle cycle: Choose a gentle wash cycle with the recommended temperature from the care label. Use a large-capacity washing machine if your jacket is filled with down.
- Tumble drying: When it comes to drying your down jacket, tumble drying on low heat should be used. To achieve the best results and preserve the down’s loft and insulating ability, we recommend adding 3-4 clean dryer balls to the tumble dryer for 2-3 hours.
